UFC Fight Night Berlin Results – Jedrzejczyk Bloodies Penne

UFC Fight Night Berlin took place today at O2 World Berlin, Germany and streamed exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.

In the main event, Joanna Jedrzejczyk made her first UFC strawweight title defense since defeating former champion Carla Esparza. She defended against Jessica Penne who made a fan out of many with her grit and determination.  The challenger was battered and bloodied badly in the second round.  A large hole formed on the bridge of her nose that spewed blood all over the face of Penne. A large mouse formed over her right eye and Penne’s face was almost unrecognizable.

The challenger managed to make it into the third round where she continued to fight on but eventually referee Marc Goddard called an end to the contest to protect the fighter.  Jedrzejczyk moves to 10-0.

Things heated up between the two ladies at yesterday’s weigh-ins after a week of taking shots at one another via social media.  Jedrzehczyk offered a necklace to the challenger, to which Penne tossed aside and then offered a ring to the champion, a symbolic reference to the Lord of the Rings character Gollum to whom Penne stated the Polish champion resembles.
