UFC Fight Night – Hunt vs. Nelson Weigh-in Results

There was a bit of worry as rumors circulated that heavy-handed Mark Hunt might not meet the maximum 266-pound weight limit requirement for his scheduled heavyweight headlining bout against Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson.

Hunt who apparently began his training camp at 340 pounds was 18 pounds over the limit yesterday weighing in at 284 pounds with less than 24 hours to weigh-ins.  Talk began of the exhaustion and how it would take a toll on Hunt’s body and that he might as well just forfeit over 20 percent of his fight purse to Nelson, the usual punishment for a fighter not being able to meet the requirements.

All that talk was put to rest earlier today in Japan as Hunt actually came in under the requirement at 264 pounds for his five-round affair.  The card airs on Fight Pass here in the United States beginning at 12:30 a.m. EST.
