UFC Fighters Cross Train with New Jersey Devils Hockey Team

Six UFC fighters received the opportunity to train with an National Hockey League team. Corey Anderson, Forrest Griffin, Chris Wade, Jessica Eye, Chris Provino, and CM Punk are all getting to train with the New Jersey Devils training staff.

Chris Wade, a Long Island native and also an avid hockey fan posted to his Instagram a photo of all the fighters Jersey’s hanging in a locker, with each fighters name posted on their locker.

“Very excited to have the opportunity to be training today with the New Jersey Devils! I’m a huge hockey fan so I’m really looking forward to the experience. Our gear looks sickk too!” Said Wade.

Wade improved his record on Sunday night at UFC Fight Night 81 to 4-0 inside the octagon and 11-1 overall. He earned a submission victory via Rear Naked Choke in the first round.

Corey Anderson, Ranked No. 12 in the light heavyweight division is also training with the Devils. He is an Illinois native, but since fighting for Frankie Edgar on TUF, Anderson has been training out in New Jersey.

The Ultimate Fighter winner is 4-1 in the UFC and holds an 8-1 overall record. He is set to fight again at UFC 197 against Tom Lawlor.

CM Punk, yet to make his debut in the UFC, but the former WWE super star is a Chicago native and a known fan of the Stanley Cup Champions, the Chicago Blackhawks.
