UFC Rankings Update: Nate Diaz Climbs

UFC Orlando has come and gone and with it came some significant changes in the UFC rankings.  The biggest leap came in the lightweight division in the form of Nate Diaz who climbed the ladders seven spots to land at number eight.  Earlier this year Diaz was taken out of the UFC rankings in the lightweight division all together.

Lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos made quick work of challenger Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, and for his efforts, RDA moved up the pound-for-pound pool to find himself now at number eight.

In the heavyweight division Alistair Overeem delivered some brutal blows to former champion Junior Dos Santos, now positioning himself at number five, moving up from number nine.   JDS however drops two spots with the loss, down to number four.

Valentina Shevchenko was not ranked prior to her bantamweight bout against Sarah Kaufman this past weekend, but for her win, she now joins the women’s rankings at number 12.  Kaufman drops four spots down to number nine, while Juliana Pena and Sara McMann each climb one spot to numbers five and six, while Jessica Eye moves up two spots to number seven from nine.  Bethe Correia remains at number eight.
