UFC rankings update: Pena leaps, Bader climbs ladder

Several fighters inched their way up the UFC rankings ladder after pivotal fights and wins in their respective divisions at UFC 192 this past weekend.

While some fighters climbed, others leaped into higher positions.  Julianna Pena is one of those fighters as the bantamweight fighter moved up five spots to number seven after defeating Jessica Eye.  With the loss, Eye moved down three spots to the number nine seed.

Ryan Bader moved himself into the number three light heavyweight position with a win over former champion Rashad Evans.  With only Alexander Gustafsson and Athony Johnson ahead of him, Bader could be next in line for a title shot against champion Daniel Cormier.  Evans moved down one position to number six.

Rose Namajunas is now seated in the number three strawweight position after making quick work of Angela Hill.

Tyron Woodley didn’t even have to perform at UFC 192 yet moved up a position to number two after his scheduled bout with Johny Hendricks was cancelled before weigh-ins.  Hendricks was taken to the hospital and a disappointed Woodley was given the next title shot after Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit meet.  After failing to appear, Hendricks moved down two spots to number three.
