UFC Signs Paul Redmond; Replaces Injured Alan Omer For UFC In Sweden

The UFC has stocked up on it’s Irish MMA fighters in 2014, and in the beginning of 2015 a new Irish native joins the UFC roster: Paul “Redser” Redmond.  Paul Redmond (10-4) joins the UFC just days after lightweight Joseph “Irish Joe” Duffy signed with the UFC (the last man to defeat Conor McGregor).

Redmond has fought in the lightweight division, however he will be dropping down to featherweight to face Mirsad Bektic (8-0) in UFC on Fox 14 in Stockholm, Sweden, just 12 days away. Bektic was scheduled to fight Alan Omer (18-4) until Omer had to withdraw due to injury.

Redmond has won his last two fights in Cage Warriors Fighting Championships (CWFC). “Redser” has finished nine of his 10 victories – five by TKO/KO and four by submission. Redmond will be joining his teammate Neil Seery, who will also be fighting on the card against Chris Beal. Redmond versus Bektic will take place on the UFC Fight Pass portion on the card, the second fight on the card which will headline Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson against Anthony “Rumble” Johnson
