UFC Vegas 59 Live Results: TUF Finals – Mohammed Usman KO’s Pauga in Round 2

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, August 6, 2022, for UFC Vegas 59, going down live from the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Headlining the event is a pair of ranked light-heavyweight contenders in former title challenger Thiago Santos (no. 6) and Jamahal Hill (no. 10) and is co-headlined by another pair of ranked contenders, this bout coming in the welterweight division between Vicente Luque (no. 6) and Geoff Neal (no. 13).

In a featured fight, A heavyweight matchup between Mohammed Usman and Zac Pauga. These two athletes look to establish themselves and gain entry into the most prestigious MMA promotion on the planet.

Can Usman get out from under his brother’s shadow? Or can Pauga put Usman away in this Season 30 Tuff Finale?

Pauga is a former pro football player for the Texans practice squad and has no traditional martial arts background. Usman has the advantage of his brother being a UFC champion. Usman believes since the show ended, and they left the TUF house he has added tools to his game.

Below is live play-by-play of the fight.

Round 1: 

Pauga comes out with a head kick. Once they are settled down, they are in the center of the cage. Pauga puts together a nice combo to the head and then lands the leg kicks. Pauga lands a head kick and Usman eats it and almost scores a takedown as he caught the head kick. Pauga volume is much higher. Usman misses on a looping right hook and Pauga lands a right hand. Usman struggling to get inside Pauga. Pauga counters Usman. Pauga attempts another high kick. Then goes to the body. Pauga landing 26 to 7 significant strikes. Pauga lands two solid jabs as Usman strikes and misses and then lands two solid shots as the horn sounds to end the round.

Round 2: 

They meet in the center of the cage. Usman tries to throw his jab. WOW!! Usman catches Pauga with a left check hook and dropped Pauga and ends the fight when he jumps on him with a strike. The fight is over!! Usman is the Ultimate Fighter.
