Weigh-In Mayhem – 7 of 11 Bellator 129 Fights at Catchweight

Ah, to have been a fly on the wall at yesterday’s Bellator 129 weigh-ins for their event later tonight at the Mid-America Center later tonight.

Rarely if ever does more than one fighter miss weight ahead of their scheduled bouts.  At the most two, maybe three barely come in over the mark so it was rather interesting to hear that seven of 11 fights are not at a catchweight.

Four fighters missed the mark after an initial three catchweight fights were previously scheduled, all on the prelims.

Then Virgil Zwicker was brought in to replace James Thompson vs. Houston Alexander, and he was given a 215 target.

Lightweight Kevin Morris only made 158;
Bantamweight Chris Lane only made 139.5;
Welterweight Marcos Marquez only made 177.4; AND
Holly Lawson vs. Jozette Cotton, which was already a catchweight at 152 became a catchweight at 168 when Cotton showed up division or two up.
