WSOF 16 Results – Palhares destroys Fitch’s knee

WSOF 16 Results

World Series of Fighting 16 featured two headlining title fights from the McClellan Conference Center in Sacramento, California, Dec. 13, 2014.  The main card aired on the NBC Sports Network beginning at 9PM EST.

In the main event Rousimar Palhares defended his welterweight title against Jon Fitch. This will be the first title defense for Palhares since defeating Steve Carl for the strap in March.  The Brazilian literally tore Fitch’s knee apart to retain the title.

Both Palhares and Fitch were threats in their division while in the UFC but were let go after a few losses.  Both fighters are looking to rack up a few wins in hopes that the UFC brass will give them another run in the organization.

Rick Glenn and Lance Palmer would meet at the center of the cage to sort out the organization’s featherweight title picture.  Glenn won the title from Georgi Karakhanyan at WSOF 10 in June.  Palmer submitted Glenn in the third round to take the strap.
