LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Jan. 16, 2015) – The highly-anticipated World Series of Fighting (www.wsof.com) welterweight (170 pounds) main event between superstars Jake Shields (30-7) of San Francisco, Calif. and Brian Foster (22-6) of Sallisaw, Okla. was made official after Shields weighed in at 170 pounds and Foster clocked in at 169.8 pounds one day before the live, five bout NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) televised Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 17.

Originally slated to face off with undefeated Johnny Nunez (5-0) of Las Vegas in the co-main event, Brian “The Bandit” Cobb (20-8) withdrew from the commitment due to a knee injury he sustained during a workout yesterday, and was replaced by Joe Condon (11-7) of Victorville, Calif.  Nunez weighed in at 155.6 pounds and Condon, who was originally scheduled to fight Jimmy Spicuzza (5-2) of Las Vegas, registered a weight of 156 pounds after originally coming in heavy at 157.4 pounds.

Although Spicuzza’s bout was scrapped from the preliminary card, which now has three fights, the fighter was paid both his contracted purse and win bonus by WSOF.

The five-bout main card will air live, beginning at 9 p.m. EST on NBCSN, as well as online domestically and internationally, free of charge, on NBCSports.com.  The live preliminary card stream will begin at 7 p.m. EST on an embeddable video player onwww.wsof.com.

Doors at Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will open at 3 p.m. PST.  The first preliminary bout will begin at 4 p.m.
