WSOF executive sentenced to 10 months in prison

From the Las Vegas Review

“Former real estate developer Shawn P. Lampman, who once had political connections in North Las Vegas, was sentenced to 10 months in federal prison Monday for a tax conviction.

Lampman, 49, who pleaded guilty in April to one misdemeanor count of failing to file a 2007 tax return, also was ordered to pay $2.5 million in restitution to the IRS.

In court papers, Lampman and his lawyer blamed much of his tax problems on substance abuse and a gambling addition.

Lampman, an ex-business partner of former North Las Vegas Mayor Michael Montandon, was charged in April 2013 with failing to file tax returns for the years 2006 through 2008, when he earned a combined $8.7 million in income.

In his plea agreement, Lampman acknowledged that he earned more than $7 million in 2007 alone and willfully did not report it to the IRS.

Montandon had been criticized while in office for voting on matters involving the old Craig Ranch Golf Course, once co-owned by Lampman, despite his business ties to Lampman.

On Monday, U.S. District Judge James Mahan ordered Lampman, now a consultant, to serve one year of supervised release after prison.

Lampman, who is free on his own recognizance, has until April 6 to surrender to prison authorities.”
