The international sports & entertainment company announced XFCi 10 as the Night of Champions, which will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A historical event for the franchise, Tournament Finalists Carlston Harris (Guyana) and Michel Pereira (Brazil) of the welterweight division and Daniel Virgínio (Brazil) and James Gray (USA) of the bantamweight division will meet in the center of the hexagon for tournament gold; as well as female Strawweights Viviane Pereira (Brazil) and Vuokko Katainen (Finland).

Also at XFCi 10, four semi-final bouts will decide contenders for the featherweight and lightweight gold medals. Representing the Featherweights, Brazilians Pedro Falcao and Missael Silva will face off, as well as Brazil’s Guilherme Faria vs. Venezuela’s Ranfi Rivas. Exemplifying the Lightweights are Brazil’s Fernando dos Santos and Rubenilton Pereira coupled with Brazil’s Willian Cilli and Egypt’s Mohamed Hassan Badawy.

“As we arrive at the end of Season II in Brazil, we are very pleased with what we have achieved. Supplementary to the memorable tournament events, we not only crowned our first XFC World Flyweight Champion, but we were blessed with a great duel between Bruno Azevedo and Allan Nascimento. Now, we conclude with a bang, naming only decisive struggles for the XFCi 10 fight card. I guarantee you we will have a great event!” affirms the president of XFC, Myron Molotky.

The Search for Tournament Gold
Michel Pereira will face Carlston Harris in the night’s main event and a very exciting fight is expected. Known as ‘showtime” for his acrobatic strikes, Michel has 12 wins in his professional career and has excited the audience in both of his XFC appearances. First, when he defeated his countrymen Geraldo Luan Santana in the quarterfinals, and subsequently Cairo Rocha in the semifinals. His July 4th opponent, Carlston Harris is coming from six consecutive victories and is ready for the finals after defeating Ariel Jaeger at XFCi 7 and most recently Paulo Cesar dos Santos, at XFCi9.

At Bantamweight, Brazil’s Daniel Virginio did not have an easy path to the finals. Virginio made his XFC debut at 6th edition of the event and surprised fans by finishing the more experienced Lerryan Douglas in the first round. Up next was the semifinals at XFCi 9, where he again finished his fight in the first round, this time by TKO vs Julio Rodriques. Virginio’s co-main event opponent at XFCi 10, is the undefeated American James Gray who has sent home Brazilian Lucas Moraes and Mexican Edgar Cabello on his way through the Season II tournament so far. Not one fighter has ever taken James longer than one round to finish, thus far in his career.

In the Women’s Strawweight Tournament Finals, undefeated Brazilian Viviane Pereira will face Finland’s Vuokko Katainen. Remaining undefeated in eight fights, Viviane Pereira eliminated her Season II competitors Fernanda Pinheiro and Liana Pirosin on her path to the tournament finals. Her finals opponent is Vuokko Katainen a former XFC flyweight fighter, stepped in as a replacement to Maryna Moroz in the semifinals round where she was victorious over then undefeated Hungarian Dora Perjes (7-1) to earn her place in the Tournament Finals.

Featherweight and Lightweight Finalists To Be Decided
Eager for a spot in the featherweight tournament finals, undefeated Pedro Falcão, who eliminated the American Mike Stevens with a beautiful submission in the quarterfinals, measures forces with Missael Silva, who conquered Georgia’s Paata Robakidze in the quarterfinals at XFCi 8. On the other side of the bracket, Brazil’s Guilherme Faria will fight for his fourth consecutive win, after knocking out Mexican Carlos Torres in the Tournament Quarterfinals. His opponent Ranfi Rivas dominated his match with Ecuador’s Geovani Arroyo during the same event.

In the Lightweight Tournament, the quarterfinals are predominantly Brazilian. Ex soccer player Fernando dos Santos will defend his eight victories against Rubenilton Pereira, who’s impressive record holds 16 wins and only 1 loss. Both are accredited to the semifinals after defeating Michel Silva and Wilson Santos, respectively, at XFCi 8. The bout’s winner will face the victor of Willian Cilli vs Mohamed Badawy. Cilli’s, who has won both his XFC challenges by submission, 1st over Reinaldo Ekson and then Luiz Henrique Barbosa.  And Egyptian Mohamed Badawy’s opportunity of reaching the tournament semifinals was cemented after his victory over Alex Franco.
