3 reasons to watch UFC Vegas 23: Marvin Vettori vs. Kevin Holland
The UFC makes its return to television Sat. April 10 when UFC Vegas 23 airs live on ABC with a main card start time of 3pm EST.
The main event for UFC Vegas 23 was originally supposed to see middleweights Darren Till and Marvin Vettori in a fight that may have determined the next challenger to UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. With Till being forced to pull out due to injury, Kevin Holland offered to step in on less than two weeks notice and just a few weeks after his five round unanimous decision loss to Derek Brunson. On a card filled with as many great fighters as this one, there are many reasons to watch UFC Vegas 23. Here are three reasons to watch UFC Vegas 23.
Will we see a different Kevin Holland?
In Hollands last fight versus Brunson, he showed flashes of brilliance on the feet and was able to hurt Brunson a few times. Besides winning a couple exchanges, he spent majority of the fight on his back, a recipe for a decision loss. As predicted from his previous fights, he talked the whole time he was in the Octagon with Brunson. If Holland makes any changes to his attitude during the fight it should be to listen to his coaches between rounds. Holland talking during the fight is not a problem because he has won a lot of fights doing it and it’s no surprise many supporters are betting with casinocasinos casino for him to win. However, if he listened to his coaches between rounds he may have stopped a takedown and probably would have won his fight with Brunson. Holland has the ability to be a top contender in the middleweight division. His ability to adjust his game plan will be a reason to watch this card.
Rising featherweight matchup
The co-main event of UFC Vegas 23 will see a pair of top 15 featherweights square off in a match-up that could propel one of them to the top of the 145 pound division. No. 10 ranked Arnold Allen and No. 11 ranked Sudiq Yusuff will face off in a sure to be entertaining contest, according to casino machine a sous. Both men are undefeated in the UFC and a show stealing performance on ABC by either men may be an introduction to the newest young contender in the featherweight division.
Opening fight on ABC
Despite the previously mentioned pull out by till, fans will still be able to see one half of the strangest friendship in the UFC as Mike Perry takes on Daniel Rodriguez in the opening fight of the main card on ABC. With all of Perry’s trouble outside of the Octagon, he is still a fan friendly fighter to watch. With heavy hands, bull-like strength and a hard nosed attitude (no pun intended) Perry has all of the tools needed to be a top fighter in the welterweight division. You should watch UFC Vegas 23 because Perry typically puts on exciting fights. Also, if the birth of Perry’s daughter had any effect on his attitude, fans may be seeing a fighter who can potentially make a lot of noise in the UFC’s welterweight division.
