Demetrious Johnson submitted at IBJJF World Masters – VIDEO
Former UFC and ONE champion Demetrious Johnson was submitted at the 2025 IBJJF World Masters Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Las Vegas on Friday.
Takuto Kako, a multiple-time BIJJF champion in Asia, was able to redeem himself after a loss to “Might Mouse” Johnson at the same event last year.
“It’s still good,” Johnson said after their meeting last year in consoling Kako. “There’s next year. This is for fun. Your life’s not going to change. You’re going to go home, keep on training, have a beautiful wife, kids, go back to work. This is for fun. There’s more to life than winning, I promise.”

pic.twitter.com/bczIoxD4Pd

Fast forward to 2025 and Johnson would advance to the second-round of the 2025 competition after his first-round opponent, Pedro Eduardo, did not show up.
In the his only bout of the night, Johnson was submitted by Kako with less than a minute left.
