Aaron Pico gets revenge on Henry Corrales, picks up first round finish at PFL vs Bellator
We’ve got a big day of fights coming to us today, February 24, 2023, where PFL vs Bellator came to us live from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, just before The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us for UFC Mexico City later in the evening.
Headlining PFL vs Bellator is a heavyweight affair between 2023 PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira (12-3, 3 NC) and Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader (31-7, 1 NC).
Co-headlining the bout is a middleweight showdown between 2023 PFL light-heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay (15-3) and Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen (14-0).
Headlining the preliminary card today was a featherweight rematch between Aaron Pico (13-4) and Henry Corrales (21-8). These two met just over five years ago at Bellator 214, Corrales coming out the victor via KO in just 67 seconds after being wobbled and hurt himself.
Since their first encounter Pico had gone 8-2, including an 8-1 run over his last nine with the only defeat coming via injury, while Corrales had gone 4-4 since.

Pico opens up the bout with heavy pressure, securing a single leg takedown early on in the opening round, though Corrales gets right back to his feet. Pico takes Corrales down again shortly thereafter, Corrales getting back to his feet once again.
Pico lands good combinations as he backs Corrales back up to the fence, securing another takedown, and Corrales wasn’t able to get back up this time. Pico secures side control, nearly locking down a mounted crucifix, before Corrales turns to his back in attempt to get up.
Pico absolutely unloads on him from here and secures the stoppage late in round one.

Aaron Pico his perhaps the most hyped prospect in MMA history, and at 27 years of age he continues to get better and better as he wins the first rematch of his career, avenging the second defeat of his young career in the process.
Following defeat to Corrales back in 2019 Pico would go on to lose to current no. 1 ranked Adam Borics. How about a rematch between those two next?
