UFC Veteran Adlan Amagov involved in shooting, 2 dead in Russia
According to a report from Bloody Elbow, “a shootout took place in western Moscow between two opposing Chechen clans, the Khalidovs and the Baysurovs.” The incident happened Monday night in Russia and it appears as if UFC Veteran Adlan Amagov was involved.
The report states that “Amagov sided with the Khalidov clan and hospitalized 19-year-old Timur Baysurov, a fellow MMA fighter, with a stab wound to the chest. The teenager was taken to an intensive care unit and treated for his injuries. Five others were injured in the shootout, while two were killed in the fighting.”
Moscow law enforcement is currently investigating the incident and have filed a criminal case for murder and the illegal transfer of firearms.
Amagov walked away from the UFC on a two-fight win streak back in 2013. The Russian mixed martial artist cited weight cuts as his reason for leaving. He went 2-0 in the UFC with a knockout win over T.J. Waldburger and a unanimous decision win over Chris Sprang.
Amagov later went on to compete in 2016 for a promotion in Russia where he won via armbar submission. He holds a professional MMA record of 14-2-1.
