AJ McKee submits Clay Collard with beautiful triangle armbar in 70 seconds at PFL vs Bellator
We’ve got a big day of fights coming to us today, February 24, 2023, where PFL vs Bellator came to us live from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, just before The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us for UFC Mexico City later in the evening.
Headlining PFL vs Bellator is a heavyweight affair between 2023 PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira (12-3, 3 NC) and Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader (31-7, 1 NC).
Co-headlining the bout is a middleweight showdown between 2023 PFL light-heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay (15-3) and Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen (14-0).
Opening up the main card today’s main card was a lightweight bout between 2023 PFL finalist Clay Collard (24-12) and former Bellator featherweight champion AJ McKee (22-1).
Collard went 3-1 last year in 2023, making it to the championship finals where he lost to two-time champion Olivier Aubin-Mercier, while McKee had gone 3-0 since his only career defeat that came in his rematch against Patricio Freire in April of 2022.

Official Result: AJ McKee def. Clay Collard via submission (triangle armbar) at 1:10 of round one
McKee lands a good jab-cross once the bout begins and secures a perfectly timed double leg 30 seconds into the bout. As Collard attempts to get up McKee jumps on a very tight guillotine choke, and it looked like the fight would be over right then and there.
Collard escapes however and is immediately locked into a triangle choke.
McKee keeps the triangle but starts to attack the arm, where he soon after secures the submission finish early.
