Aleksa Camur: ‘I want to represent Serbians around the world’ with UFC contract
Unbeaten light heavyweight Aleksa Camur discusses his upcoming main event fight with Fabio Cherant this Tuesday night at Dana White’s Contender Series 22. Camur joined us from Las Vegas, just minutes before the UFC 240 main card was about to begin.
Tuesday night’s event will take place at the UFC Apex.
Aleksa talked about getting the fight, how quickly his opportunity has come with only four pro fights, Cherant as an opponent, visualization, how he sees the fight playing out, what he’s planning for a post-fight meal in Vegas and much more.
The 23-year-old teammate of longtime, former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic also shared what earning a UFC contract on Tuesday night will mean to him.
“It will mean the world to me,” Camur told MyMMANews.com. “I’ve been doing this for seven years. I’ve put my life on hold. I’ve missed out on a lot of things that a lot of people my age would love to do. I’ve sacrificed a lot. It would mean the world to help my family out with everything that’s going on. I’ve worked so hard for it and it would be amazing. I’d love to represent Serbians all around the world and we’ve got a tight Serbian community that’s supporting me.
“I’d just love to be the one to represent us, I know we’ve got a few in the UFC and another one wouldn’t hurt. I think it would be a good addition.”
