Aleksander Emelianenko Found Guilty of Rape – Will Serve 4-5 Years in Prison
Former Pride FC competitor Aleksander Emelianenko was tried today in Simonovsky Court in Moscow, Russia and was found guilty of rape. Emelianenko has been sentenced to four-to-five years in prison and fined 50,000 rubles (1,000 USD).
The crime was committed back in March 3, 2014 when Emelianenko committed sexual assault against a woman who was cleaning his apartment. According to investigators, Emelianenko also forced the woman to use drugs, and took her passport. Emelianenko denies the charges and said that the woman had consented into having sex with him.
This is not the first run in with the law for the three-time world combat Sambo champion. Aleksander’s brother, Fedor, has said that Aleksander had a rough life growing up ever since his parents separated. Aleksander Emelianenko (23-7) last fought at Coliseum FC back in January 2014, losing to Dmitriy Sosnoviskiy via TKO.
