In regards to his feelings on the signing, Sakara stated, “I’ve been watching BKFC for a long time. Both the events on the app and how the business has grown. Dave and his team have built a tremendous company which I’m excited to join. This is exactly the type of challenge I need. I can’t wait for my first fight.”
Sakara has previously competed in promotions like UFC and Bellator. He boasts a cumulative MMA record of 21 wins and 13 losses with 15 knockout victories. Sakara has a multitude of standout wins across his combative resume. This includes victories over former BKFC heavyweight world champion Joey Beltran, Thales Leites, James Irvin, Caanan Grigsby, Victor Valimaki, and Jamie Sloane. His emphatic win over Joe Vedepo in the UFC garnered him a Knockout of the Night distinction.
‘Legionarius’ has also tested skills with the likes of former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, former BKFC veteran Chris Leben, top five pound-for-pound ranked BKFC fighter Houston Alexander, Brian Stann, and Patrick Cote to name a few.

While he has been fighting at 205 pounds for his last few fights, Sakara is also no stranger to 185 pounds either. Sakara aims to return to 185 pounds for the first time since his December 2017 Bellator middleweight title bid versus Rafael Carvalho.
Sakara’s debut effort in the BKFC and the specifics on a date, opponent, etc are still TBA.
