Alexander Hernandez replaces Gabriel Benitez, meets Jim Miller at UFC Vegas 69

Alexander Hernandez will be returning to lightweight.

According to Alex Behunin of Cageside Press, Hernandez has stepped up on short notice to face Jim Miller at UFC Vegas 69 on February 18. The event will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Miller was originally supposed to fight Gabriel Benitez on the card.

Alexander Hernandez (13-6) made his UFC featherweight debut last time out at UFC 282 in December and suffered a second-round TKO loss. Prior to that, he was submitted in the second-round at UFC 271 against Renato Moicano after knocking out Mike Breeden.

Hernandez has been in the UFC since 2018 and made his debut on short notice at UFC 222 and scored a 42-second KO win over Beneil Dariush. He then picked up a decision over Olivier Aubin-Mercier before losing by TKO to Donald Cerrone. Hernandez is 5-5 in the UFC with his other two wins over Francisco Trinaldo and Chris Gruetzemacher.

Jim Miller (35-16 and one No Contest) is riding a three-fight winning streak having defeated Donald Cerrone by submission last time out. Prior to that, he knocked out Nikolas Motta and Erick Gonzalez to return to the win column after losing back-to-back fights to Joe Solecki and Vinc Pichel.

Miller has been in the UFC since 2008 and has a record of 24-15 and one No Contest in the promotion. In his UFC tenure, he holds notable wins over Joe Lauzon, Takanori Gomi, Yancy Medeiros, and Charles Oliveira among countless others.
