Alistair Overeem defeats Badr Hari in rubber match at GLORY Collision 4

Alistair Overeem suspended 1-year for doping violation

Former UFC heavyweight title contender Alistair Overeem has been suspended for one year and his win over Badr Hari has been overturned due to a violation of GLORY’s anti-doping rules. Vechtsportinfo.nl was first to report the news.

In October 2022, “The Demolition Man” Overeem fought Hari for a third time in his professional combat sports career. Both men had a win a piece going into the contest, and it was Overeem who would come out on top by way of unanimous decision in the trilogy bout at GLORY Collision 4.

Although the substance for which Overeem’s violation stems from has not been revealed, GLORY did confirm that both of the A and B sample taken from the 42-year-old fighter came back positive.

As a result, Overeem was suspended, his win over Hari has been overturned, and he has been removed from the promotion’s rankings.

Previously, while with the UFC, Overeem was also suspended by the Nevada Athletic Commission after testing positive for elevated levels of testosterone.
