Amanda Serrano vs Heather Hardy 2 to serve as Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz co-main event
Most Valuable Promotions announced Thursday that Amanda Serrano (44-2-1, 30 KOs) will defend her undisputed featherweight championship against Heather Hardy (22-2, 1 NC, 4 KOs) in a rematch on August 5.
The 10-round bout will serve as the co-main event of Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz in Dallas, Texas.
Serrano defeated Hardy by way of unanimous decision victory in 2019 to win the WBO women’s featherweight belt.
Serrano currently holds the WBA, WBC, WBO, IBO & The Ring titles at 126 pounds. She dropped a split decision loss to Katie Taylor in what was the first-ever women’s headliner at Madison Square Garden and one of the biggest women’s boxing matches ever. Serrano then went on to win two more bouts.
Hardy (24-2, 1 NC) has won two straight, most recently a majority decision win over Taynna Cardoso in February.
Not only are the two ladies ranked among the top female boxers, and have prior experience with one another, but they also both have prior professional mixed martial arts experience. Hardy competed several times for Bellator MMA while Serrano fought for Combate and iKon Fighting.
Serrano is promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions who are co-hosting the card with Diaz’s Real Fight Inc.
Later in the night Paul and Diaz will wear 10-ounce gloves for the fight being contested at 185-pounds.
