Anatoly Malykhin: “There are no such conditions that can make me leave ONE”
Undefeated Anatoly Malykhin is 100% content on staying with ONE Championship.
The Russian knockout artist Anatoly Malykhin turned in a dominant performance against Indian-Canadian star Arjan Bhullar to become the undisputed ONE Heavyweight World Champion at ONE Friday Fights 22 on June 23.. The two men clashed in a highly anticipated MMA fight two years in the making, and the action did not disappoint.
“Sladkiy” exploded out of the gates, pushing Bhullar back against the ropes behind a furious attack. He employed fast and dangerous hands that forced “Singh” on the defensive, as the former Commonwealth Games Wrestling Gold Medalist tried his best to weather the early storm.
In the second frame, Malykhin turned up the intensity even more, battering Bhullar to the head and body, which slowed the defending World Champion considerably. The Russian finally ended Bhullar’s reign in the third round via ground-and-pound, winning by TKO to unify the heavyweight belt and become a two-division king.
Speaking to media in a post-fight interview, Malykhin addressed talk of moving to the UF.
A ONE Championship official said, “Vadim Nemkov admitted that he was ready to move to the UFC, getting one million
per fight. Under what conditions would you be willing to move?” For context, Vadim Nemkov is the current Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion.
Malykhin responded, “There are no such conditions that can make me leave ONE. When no one wanted me, Mr. Chatri and ONE gave me a job, gave me a home, and I don’t sell out for money. Whatever price is offered for me now or in the future in the UFC or elsewhere, as long as ONE needs me, as long as I’m a ONE fighter, I stay in this organization. And if ONE doesn’t fire me, I want to end my career with ONE.”
