“When I look back at my journey, I see that nothing has been in vain,” Silva said to TMZ Sports … “I am extremely happy for the opportunity to test my boxing skills with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.” I train continuously, always striving for resilience and to overcome obstacles. Fighting is my everlasting breath.”Chavez Jr., is eager to share the ring with Silva but is confident he will get his hand raised on June 19.
“I have rededicated myself to the sport that I love and I will be ready to face anyone in the Light Heavyweight division starting with Silva,” he said in a statement. “I will be prepared to be victorious on June 19.”Anderson Silva has not fought since Halloween night where he suffered a TKO loss to Uriah Hall and was released from the UFC.
