Andre Fialho Steps in Agaisnt Miguel Baeza
With the sudden retirement of former two-time Ultimate Fighter finalist Dhiego Lima, Andre Fialho will step in to face Miguel Baeza.
Lima was scheduled to fight Baeza on April 16th, however, just a few weeks after signing the bout agreement Lima decided that it was his time to retire. He announced his retirement on social media stating, “I know when God speaks to me and he was clear that my fighting days are over. Thank you for everyone that has supported me through this journey.”
Taking Lima’s place on the April 16th UFC Fight Night card will be Andre Fialho.
Fialho is coming into the fight holding a record of 14-4, 1 NC. He made his UFC debut this past January at UFC 270: Ngannou vs. Gane, where he took Michel Pereira to the judge’s scorecards. Despite losing the fight via unanimous decision, Fialho is ready to test himself against Baeza.
Baeza holds a 10-2 record and is coming into the fight on a two-fight losing skid. In 2021, Baeza suffered defeats in the hands of Santiago Ponzinibbio and Khaos Williams.
With Baeza on a two-fight skid, he will be looking to bounce back into the win column. Fialho, much the same, will be looking to obtain his first win under the UFC banner.
UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Muhammad 2 will take place on April 16th at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will also feature Uriah Hall vs. Andre Muniz, Chris Barnett’s anticipated return, and the return of Drakkar Klose after two years away from the sport.
