Andrea Lee discusses her upcoming fight against Maycee Barber
Andrea Lee has been out of action for 10 months and now she cannot wait to compete at UFC San Antonio on March 25.
In Lee’s last fight against Viviane Araujo, Lee took a few shots to the back of the head and ended up getting a concussion in the fight.
The concussion had some scary moments which included dizzy spells, so Lee wanted to make sure she was fully healed and ready to go before accepting a fight.
Eventually, Lee felt comfortable enough to return and the UFC gave her an exciting matchup that fans will have their eye one at UFC San Antonio.
Lee’s opponent on fight night will be Maycee Barber and both ladies are very popular and both are currently ranked within the UFC flyweight division.
At one point in Barber’s career, she gained a lot of media attention because she was pegged as someone who could become the youngest champion in UFC history.
While she didn’t pull off that accomplishment, she is still a fan favorite and is looked as an a young up-and-comer who many believe will be claim UFC gold in her career.
As for Lee, she pays no attention to the outside talk. She once walked in the same shoes as Barber and she has been battling the best of the flyweight division for a longer period of time.
In fact, Lee is still climbing the ranks and this year she’s looking to make a big splash after her brief time away from the octagon.
In a perfect world, Lee wants to get three fights in this year and post three wins in order to set her up for a big time matchup within the division.
Prior to UFC San Antonio, Lee spoke with MyMMANews to discuss her comeback from the concussion, her matchup against Barber, being ranked in the top 30 women in UFC history by UFC Fight Pass and her nickname KGB.
