Artem Lobov confirms Conor McGregor still trains at SBG
Rumors started to swirl that Conor McGregor left SBG. He was posting pictures training at other gyms. Not just any gyms but some of the top gyms in the sport like American Top Team (Atlanta location), and Bas Rutten’s gym. As well, it was reported he got into a fight with John Kavanagh, leaving many to wonder if the star duo decided to part ways.
However, that is not the case. According to McGregor’s good friend in Artem Lobov, who also trains at SBG says McGregor is still with the team and will always be with the team.
“No, Conor is still with us, we are all still a part of SBG,” Lobov said on the latest episode of BJPENN.COM Radio. “The thing is that many of the SBG fighters that have kind of retired now or whatever, they have opened their own SBG gyms. So, we all will often train not only at the main SBG but other SBG gyms. For example, Peter Queally opened SBG Naas and that’s a great facility, so Conor and many of us would often train there. There’s SBG D24 with Paddy Holohan; we’ve got many SBGs now so as a result it may seem sometimes that we’re not all there at SBG HQ, but we still are all a part of SBG.”
Now, when McGregor gets another fight booked, rest assured he will be once again training at SBG and have his right-hand man in his corner in Kavanagh. The two started this together and will continue to ride it out.
But another question that has yet to be answered is when will McGregor return and who will he fight next. Many believe he will take on Nate Diaz in a trilogy bout, but nothing has been reported or confirmed. The only thing confirmed is that McGregor is still with SBG.
