Asher Frederick victorious in pro debut at Ohio Combat League 25
Ohio Combat League 25 went down at the Ohio Event Center at the Cherry Valley Hotel in Newark, Ohio, and the fight card featured 15 bouts.
In the main event, Asher Frederick was victorious in his pro debut, as he topped Haseeb Khetab (0-2) via unanimous decision. Frederick used his well-rounded game to keep the flashy striking of Khetab at bay, landing straight punches and marking up his legs and ribs with nasty kicks. “Shock N Rock” also showed off his new tools as a pro, landing some vicious elbows in the second round to bust open the nose of Khetab.
In the co-main event, Matt Adams picked up the first pro win of his career, as it took him less than a minute to finish Bill Myers (0-2) via strikes.
In the third pro bout, Melvin Harris (1-1) outlasted Damoane Hawkins (0-2) in a matchup of strikers, but it was his two takedowns in the third round that were the difference en route to his majority decision victory.
In the amateur main event, Travon Eller (5-0) continued his streak of scary fast finishes, as he knocked out Foster Eberly (4-3) in just 14 seconds to take home the light heavyweight title. Eller’s last four fights have lasted a total of 38 seconds combined.
