Aspen Ladd and Sara McMann targeted for UFC event on June 27
A bantamweight clash between Aspen Ladd and Sara McMann is in the works for the June 27 UFC event.
Ladd’s potential bout on march 28 with Julianna Pena fell through after Pena suffered an injury. The promotion eventually postponed the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most recently, Ladd finished Yana Kunitskaya by third-round TKO at UFC on ESPN 7 in December 2019. The 25-year-old is currently 4-1 inside the octagon. She suffered her first career loss via first-round knockout to Germaine de Randamie at UFC on ESPN+ 13 in July 2019.

McMann is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Lina Lansberg at UFC on ESPN+ 24 on Jan. 25. The victory snapped a two-fight losing streak from the former title challenger.
It also marked her first bout in almost two years. She gave birth to her second child during that span.

The June 27 event was originally pegged for Austin, Texas before the pandemic caused the promotion to postpone the majority of its cards. Las Vegas, Nevada could be one of the options as the UFC is waiting for the Nevada Athletic commission to continue combat sports.
It’s an all-women event so far. Flyweight bouts between Viviane Araujo and Jennifer Maia, as well as Alexa Grasso and Ji Yeon Kim are scheduled for the card.
