Bec Rawlings-Rodriguez to make pro boxing debut on December 3

Bec Rawlings Proud to be an OG for BKFC

“Rowdy” Bec Rawlings was in the winner’s circle for BKFC’s historic event in Philadelphia, Knucklamania V.

Rawlings moved to 4-3 with the promotion when she defeated Taylor “Killa Bee” Starling by unanimous decision. The sold-out event was a milestone for the promotion that BKFC President David Feldman said, “always bites off more than it can chew” and keeps growing. Rawlings was there since day one of BKFC when it began in 2018 and she calls it one of her “favorite fights,” because no one knew it would grow into what it is now.

In the post-fight press conference, Rawlings was asked about being part of BKFC 1: The Beginning and how it compared to Knucklemani V.

She said, “ I think it (BKFC 1) was in a skating rink or it was in some like Hall and it was honestly amazing. That was probably one of my favorite fights because I didn’t know what I was walking into I didn’t know what company I was walking into, if I was even going to get paid at the end of it. I had no idea but I said [expletive ] it, let’s do it.”

110 events and seven years later, BKFC has not only grown into a promotion that Conor McGregor bought an ownership stake in, it is slowly becoming the combat sports alternative fights fans look forward to when the UFC is on an off weekend.

I’m a [expletive] OG of this! – “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings

Rawlings added, “To see how big Bareknuckle has grown and to know that I have had a part in that. I was the first big kind of fighter that was willing to take a risk on the company. Christine Ferea said, ‘Make sure you tell people that you were the OG!’, and she wasn’t even going to give the company a shot until she saw I was signed. She’s like, ‘Oh well if she’s doing it, it must be [expletive ] legit,’ and that made me feel really good, and I think I’d like a little bit of respect, I’m a [expletive] OG of this!”

As they say, respect is earned, not given and Rawlings definitely earned it.
