Belal Muhammad vs Shavkat Rakhmonov welterweight title bout headlines UFC 310

UFC 310 is shaping up to be a very exciting night of fights as the Ultimate Fighting Championship has just added two stellar title fights to the lineup.

UFC 310 is to go down on December 7, 2024, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, and is to be the final PPV event of the year.

Following our flyweight championship encounter in the co-main event UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad (24-3) is expected to defend his title against no. 3 ranked former M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Shavkat Rakhmonov (18-0) in the main event of the evening.

Muhammad has gotten incredibly good over the last several years, setting back contender after contender en route to claiming his title at UFC 304.

This win streak began following defeat to current no. 10 ranked Geoff Neal in 2019.

Muhammad went on to defeat the likes of Curtis Millender (UD), Takashi Sato (rear naked choke), former Bellator welterweight champion Lyman Good (UD), Dhiego Lima (UD), former two-division title challenger Demian Maia (UD), former two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson (UD), avenging an earlier defeat against Vicente Luque (UD), formerly undefeated Sean Brady (TKO), former title challenger Gilbert Burns (UD), and then Leon Edwards (UD) in July where he claimed the welterweight title.

Rakhmonov on the other hand, unlike the champion who’s gone unbeaten in 11-straight fights, has gone unbeaten through his entire 18-fight career. What’s more, each and every one of those wins are finishes with 10 submissions and eight knockouts.

Since joining the UFC in 2020 Rakhmonov has defeated the likes of Alex Oliveira (guillotine choke), 2nd-degree BJJ black belt Michel Prazeres (rear naked choke), Carlston Harris (KO), Neil Magny (guillotine choke), Geoff Neal (rear naked choke), and Stephen Thompson (rear naked choke).

Who wins this enticing welterweight championship bout going down this December?

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
