Bellator 135 results: Knee bar submission brings new champ
Bellator 135: ‘Warren vs Galvao’ took place at the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla;, March 27 and aired on Spike TV.
In the main event the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ and now former Bellator bantamweight champion, Joe Warren defended against Marcos Galvao in a rematch from four years ago when Warren outpointed Galvao on the judges’ scorecards in April 2011.
Warren (12-3) was on a five fight win streak. He took the title from Eduardo Dantas in his last fight in October 2014. This was Warren’s first title defense.
Galvao (16-6) returned to action for the first time in almost a year. His last fight, a win, in May 2014 at Bellator 118.
HOWEVER, Galvao would now become the Bellator bantamweight champion after extracting revenge and submitting the champion via knee bar.
