Bellator 256 Post-Fight Presser (Borics, Rosta, and Nogueira)
Bellator 256 emanated from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, and broadcast on Showtime.
Bellator MMA kicked off their Light Heavyweight Grand Prix on Friday, April 9th but there was a myriad of highlights throughout the card.
At the Bellator 256 Post-Fight Presser, I spoke with Adam Borics, Dalton Rosta, and Talita Nogueira.
Adam Borics
You mentioned just a bit earlier in the scrum that cutting down to 145 isn’t necessarily the easiest. Is the path to 155 pounds maybe something coming sooner than later?
“I think I have two more years in this division. But, fighting catchweight 150 is good. But I am too small at 155. I’m gonna stay at 145 for two more years. But, you know, I have to take care of my body because I want to make a long career. So I don’t want to kill myself.”
Dalton Rosta
I’m just kind of curious with this Romero Cotton callout here. It seems like maybe there’s a level of frustration with him that could be oriented to some bad blood.
Is that a fair characterization or is it more just a rankings-minded competitive meritocracy thing?
“It’s more rankings, you know. It’s like somebody else asked me, I said I was above him. And in my mind I am. But according to the media, I’m not. And at the end of the day, we’re here to please the fans. We’re here to please the media. So, I’m obviously not doing enough in their eyes. So I gotta go and beat him, take his spot.”
Talita Nogueira
I’m kind of just curious though if there’s any particular fights in the top 10 here you’re looking at. Maybe say like a fight with Olga Rubin, for instance.
Have you checked out the top 10 in general? Are you eyeing specific opponents at all with this victory here?
“Yeah, I want one in top 10. I want, yeah. Maybe Cat Zingano.”
