BKFC Prospect Series Edmonton – Knockouts rule the night

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) returned to the world-class River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with another sold-out event on Saturday night.

Only two of the evening’s eleven bouts went to the judges’ scorecards. All the action, as always, streamed LIVE worldwide on the BKFC App.

In the BKFC Prospect Series Edmonton main event, hometown welterweight contender Drew “Wild Boy” Stuve smashed his way to 2-0 in his BKFC career with a second-round technical knockout over Sonny “The Savage” Smith. Stuve picked himself up off the canvas and logged four knockdowns of his own en route to the victory. Time of the stoppage was 71 seconds into the second round. Smith, who is from the United Kingdom and lives in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, is now 2-2 in his BKFC career.

“I love it. I feel like a (expletive) gangster,” Stuve told the jam-packed River Cree Resort & Casino, adding, “David (Feldman), Conor (McGregor), Nate (Shook), let’s get me that contract. I’m going to make you a lot of money.”

In the co-main event, “Hungry” Hasan Al-Ghanim sent Ryan “The Electric City Strangler” Ibsen to the canvas three times before their lightweight clash was stopped just 73 seconds into the first round. Al-Ghanim, who was born in Iraq and hails from Edmonton, is now 2-0 with back-to-back stoppage victories in his BKFC career, while the Great Falls, MT product Ibsen moves to 1-1.

In the BKFC Edmonton Prospect Series Feature Fight, “Super” Chad Lucanas smashed his way to 2-0 in his BKFC career with a second straight, first-round stoppage victory over Zach “Lil Mac” Pannell in lightweight action. The fast-rising Edmonton fighter dropped the Lancaster, PA-based Pannell twice before their bout was stopped after just 75 seconds. Pannell is now 1-2.

Bohdan “The Iron Hammer” Kotok needed just 62 seconds to defeat Jonathan “Big Baby” Miller in heavyweight action. The heavy-handed Porkov, Ukraine-born newcomer dropped Miller twice in the win. Miller, who calls Pensacola, FL home, is now 2-2 in his BKFC career.

The judges scored the bout unanimously for Scott (48-46×2, 49-45). Both fighters were stepping into the squared circle for the first time.
