Bo Nickal in need of an opponent as Tresean Gore forced out of UFC 290 fight

Bo Nickal will need someone to step up on short notice.

Nickal was set to face Tresean Gore on the main card of UFC 290 in his second UFC fight. However, on Tuesday, it was reported by MMA journalist Ariel Helwani that Gore is out of their scrap due to an injury. At this time, the hope is an opponent can be found to fight Nickal on short notice on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event of the card sees Alexander Volkanovski defending his featherweight belt against Yair Rodriguez.

Bo Nickal (4-0) is coming off a first-round submission over Jamie Pickett back at UFC 285 in March in his promotional debut. Prior to that, he fought twice on the Contender Series as he beat Donovan Beard by submission in 52 seconds and the first time, submitted Zack Borrego by submission in 62 seconds. In his MMA debut, Nickal scored a 33-second knockout win after he finished his NCAA wrestling career at Penn State.

Tresean Gore (4-2) is coming off his first UFC win as he submitted Josh Fremd in the second round. Prior to that, he suffered a KO loss to Cody Brundage and before that, lost by decision to Bryan Battle. Gore competed on TUF 29 and made it to the finals but an injury forced him from competing on the card.
