Brandon Moreno vs. Alex Perez pegged for UFC 255 on Nov. 21
Brandon Moreno and Alex Perez will not sit back and watch.
The highly-ranked flyweight contenders will face off at UFC 255 on Nov. 21, the same event headlined by former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and current UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figuiredo. First reported by Milento, Moreno and Perez are still options if Garbrandt fails to make the 125 pound.
Despite the fact Moreno is ranked No. 2 and Perez is pegged at No. 4 in the division, the UFC opted to go with Grabrandt, who is making the move down to flyweight.
Brandon Moreno is unbeaten in his last four fights, which includes a draw to Askar Askarov at UFC on ESPN+ 17 this past December. Since then, “The Assassin Baby” rattled off two-straight decision wins against Kai Kara-France and Jussier Formiga.
Perez is riding a three-fight win streak, most recently defeating Formiga by first-round TKO via leg kicks at UFC 250 on June 6. He previously earned back-to-back victories over Jordan Espinosa and Mark De La Rosa.
Figueiredo recently captured the vacant belt by finishing Joseph Benavidez via a first-round submission at UFC on ESPN+30 on July 18. Gabrandt is fresh off a first-round knockout of Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250, ending a three-fight skid for the former champion.
