Brendon Marotte – Ready to Showcase True Skills on UFC Stage
After taking his UFC debut on five days’ notice, Brendon Marotte will look to enter the Octagon on September 07, 2024, with aspirations of earning his first promotional win. The dangerous striker is set to face Isaac Dulgarian on the UFC Fight Night: Burns vs Brady card.
Finding His Way to MMA
Similar to many mixed martial artists, combat sports run in the blood of Marotte.
“I had a couple of boxers in the family. I started with downtown boxing gym when I was around 15 years old and did karate as a kid. UFC was booming when I was 15 and loved to watch the fights. One thing led to another, and I found myself in an MMA gym and haven’t looked back since!” Marotte told MYMMANEWS.
Now a member of Syndicate MMA under John Wood in Las Vegas, there have been many along the way who have helped mold Marotte into the fighter he has become, now a UFC contender. “I credit above all our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. My faith in him is what drives me to have no fear of another man or of what pains they could bring on. It’s nothing in comparison to strength of my faith,” started Marotte.
“My family as well, as I was raised in a small town with a close family that grew up blue collar and hard working. Fear of challenges didn’t exist the way I was raised, especially not to fear another man. It just wasn’t an option or thought,” said Marotte.
Rise to the UFC
Marotte made his professional MMA debut in February 2018, in which he earned a second-round TKO. Within the next year, Marotte would remain very active competing four more times within the next year. All five of these matchups would result in KO/TKO victories with one matchup being a unanimous decision. After a brieft stumble in April 2019, Marotte would win three straight to earn his shot in the UFC.
“My UFC debut was a blur. Inside five days I got the call, jumped up a weight class, flew from New England to Nevada and felt like I walked right into the cage from there. This fight will show how skilled and aggressive I am when fighting. I had a full camp and had the time to study my opponent. Mentally I face every fight the same but this time around I had time and preparation on my side at the correct weight class (Featherweight) I fight at,” stated Marotte.
Exciting Showdown
So, what can fans expect to see when the prepared Brendon Marotte enters the Octagon?
“As always I promise fans an exciting fight. I don’t try to win by points. I aim to always finish my opponents and cause as much damage as possible. My opponent is not a fighter, he’s an athlete that wants to wrestle his way to a boring decision. I’m going to burn Isaac out and once he’s tired the knockout is mine. I’m levels above him in striking skill and power. There is only a small number of shots he can take from me before he mentally breaks, or his brain say goodnight!” started Marotte.
