With Bryan Barberena injured, Ben Saunders in against Jake Ellenberger
Longtime UFC veteran Ben Saunders has stepped in to replace an injured Bryan Barberena in a scheduled June 1 bout against Jake Ellenberger.
“Killa B” will face “The Juggernaut” at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York in the welterweight scrap.
Saunders is riding back-to-back knockout losses to Alan Jouban and Peter Sobotta. His last win came over Court McGee in January 2017. Saunders was originally a cast member on the Ultimate Fighter season 6 and has been with the UFC organization since 2007.
Marine Corps Veteran Ellenberger is also facing the same fate of two losses in a row. His come at the hands of Mike Perry and Jorge Masvidal. Ellenberger began his UFC career run in 2009.
Headlining the event, which airs live on FS1, is a clash of bantamweight contenders between Jimmie Rivera and Marlon Moraes. Tickets go on sale on April 6.
