CFFC 72 results – Sean Brady is STILL CFFC WW Champion; Daukaus New Middleweight Champion

Cage Fury Fighting Championships officials hold CFFC 72 tonight from Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, N.J. The event broadcasted live on UFC Fight Pass and features two title bouts, while the prelims streamed on Facebook Live.

In the main event, Sean Brady successfully defended his welterweight title against Taj Abdul-Hakim. His dominating win may be what Brady needed to receive the call from UFC President, Dana White for the UFC event coming to nearby Philadelphia, his hometown.

In the co-main event spot, former CFFC welterweight champion and UFC fighter, Jonavin Webb moved up to middleweight on short notice to fight Kyle Daukaus for the promotion’s vacant middleweight strap. Daukaus was to fight Mike Wilcox, but Wilcox was removed from the card several weeks ago following an arrest. Daukaus battled through to eventually sink in a deep D’arce choke that made Webb spit ZZZZ’s out his mouth, finishing the bout at 5:00 of round two.
