Chad Hanekom – First MMA fighter from South Africa in Jordan
Chad Hanekom will become the first MMA fighter from South Africa to compete in Jordan at Brave Combat Federation. The former EFC prospect signed with the Bahrain based MMA promotion to take on Ikram Aliskerov. The Dagestani native who trains out of Champion club in Derbent under the tutelage of the legendary Esedulla Emiragaev is a champion at European and World Combat Sambo Championship.
Extremely well rounded and intelligent in the cage, Ikram will look forward to continue his winning streak and record his third victory under the Brave banner. Chad had moved into the new weightclass and have signed a multi-fight contract with Brave Combat Federation. A victory for Chad Hanekom also can prompt more global attention towards the growing MMA industry in South Africa. So far Brave Combat Federation has three South African Nationals under it’s contract. This includes the former EFC Champion, Jeremy Smith, Frans Mlambo and Chad Hanekom. The Bahrain based MMA promotion had announced that this year they will be looking forward to host events in more destinations to support the growth of the organizations.
“I don’t feel any pressure coming into my debut. I think that he’s under more pressure than I am, as he’s currently at the top of the division. He’s there to try and retain his spot. He is a quality opponent and I look forward to testing myself against him. In order for me to be “The Man”, I’ve gotta beat “The Man”. I believe once I’ve eliminated him out of the picture I’ll be right up there when the conversations about middleweight titles are being told”, says a confident Hanekom.
