Charles Oliveira dominates Tony Ferguson in UFC 256 co-main event
Charles Oliveira came into his fight at UFC 256 with Tony Ferguson red hot. He left the fight with another win to his resume and he puts himself to into title contention after going right through Ferguson to extend his winning streak to eight wins in a row.

UFC 256 goes down tonight and the event will mark the final UFC pay per view of 2020.
The main event will feature a flyweight title fight between champion Deiveson Figueiredo and challenger Brandon Moreno. Both fighters just fought three weeks ago and UFC 255.
In the co-main event, a big time lightweight bout goes down between Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira.
Ferguson (25-4) is coming off a loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 in May in a fight which was for the interim lightweight title. Prior to that defeat, Ferguson won 12 fights in a row, going unbeaten over eight years. In that stretch he secured wins over notable names like Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, Kevin Lee, Rafael dos Anjos and Edson Barboza.
Oliveira (29-8, 1 NC) is currently riding a seven-fight winning streak and he’s hoping a win over Ferguson can get him a title fight. The last time he lost was three years ago when he was defeated by Paul Felder.

Round 1
Oliveira lands the first clean strike with a heavy leg kick.
Ferguson scores with a nice jab.
Oliveira comes out aggressive and Ferguson lands heavy strikes as Oliveira comes forward.
After eating a few shots, Oliveira grabs Ferguson and slams him to the ground and Ferguson is on his back.
Oliveira is controlling Ferguson on the ground and gets into full mount. Something you never see happen to Ferguson. From the position, Oliveira lands some strikes including a nice elbow.
Ferguson is remaining tough on the ground and his holding up well for being in the bad position.
Oliveira got Ferguson’s arm in an armbar and had it locked it. There was only seconds left in the round, but how Ferguson didn’t tap was amazing. The submission was locked in. Ferguson was lucky to survive the round.

Ferguson lands a heavy punch. You can tell his left armbar, which was caught in the arm bar is hurting.
Oliveira gets Ferguson to the ground and the action is stopped do an illegal strike to a downed opponent and a doctor came in to look at a cut on Oliveira’s eye.
The referee resumes action from the position he stopped them in. Oliveira comes to grind it out and do damage to Ferguson on the ground.
Two minutes left in the round and it’s still all Oliveira. He’s still on top of Ferguson and landing strikes.
Ferguson now doing some work from the bottom and trying to secure a submission.
Time runs out in the round and it’s 2-0 Oliveira.

Oliveira gets after it again and scores a takedown. Ferguson is on his back and he needs a finish.
Oliveira locks in a triangle, but Ferguson escapes out of it. Not looking good Ferguson as Oliveira is still in a dominate spot and he continue to do work while controlling the fight.
One minute left in the fight and Oliveira is still on top of Ferguson.
Oliveira rides out the final the final minute and secures the biggest win of his career.
