Charlie Leary – “I like to take the tough fight, I like to be tested”
Charlie Leary is back to winning ways defeating the tough Chris Bungard at Bellator London a fortnight ago.
I spoke to Leary during an interview on Martial Arts Chat Podcast and one question I was intrigued to ask was how it felt getting the call to fight someone as experienced and skilled as Chris Bungard to get back on the win column?
“I actually thrive at that sort of pressure, I like to take the hard fight, I like to be tested and I want the top guys, coming off of a loss you may think OK maybe they will give me someone else coming off a loss or something like that, so when they gave me Bungard I jumped at the chance. Its great to come off someone who’s just got a great win himself and he’s pushing his way up there in the rankings.”
Leary (16-10) has proven over nine years of competing he has what it takes to stand toe to toe with the best in the organization. Leary is well known to never turn down a matchup and has a fight anyone anywhere attitude. Fighting in multiple organisations, and multiple countries, Leary has a wealth of knowledge and experience to rise to the top of the division and who knows what the future holds?
