Chepe Mariscal existed to make his UFC debut at UFC on ABC 5
Chepe Mariscal has always stayed busy in MMA career and that stayed paid off as the UFC knew he’s be ready for a short notice opportunity.
We’ll just 10 before UFC on ABC 5, Victor Martinez was pulled out of his fight with Trevor Peek and Peek made the decision to remain on the card.
With Peek needing an opponent, the UFC called Mariscal to step in on short notice and he gladly accepted.
While it’ll be Mariscal’s first fight in the UFC, he appears to be cool, calm and collected ahead of the fight and that’s too be expected as he has plenty of experience in promotions that have produced plenty of high level UFC talent.
So far, Mariscal has fought in Ring of Combat, LFA, CFFC, Cage Warriors and Combate. All of are not only UFC feeder promotions, but they also have taken Mariscal all over the world to compete in his fights.
Mariscal doesn’t only feel like those promotions have him more than prepared, but he also loves the matchup against Peek.
Prior to the fight, Peek did with an interview with MyMMANews while he was still scheduled to face Martinez.
Peek made it clear that he wants a performance of the night bonus for a knockout finish.
Mariscal knows that Peek wants to come forward and finish the fight and Mariscal is happy that’s the case as he hates when his opponents circle around the cage.
So, just like Peek, Marsical is going to come forward and look to finish the fight, so fans should expected a fun brawl inside of the octagon on Saturday night.
Ahead of UFC on ABC 5, Mariscal spoke with MyMMANews just ahead of his UFC debut to discuss his matchup with Peek, his experience prior to the UFC snd training at Elevation MMA in Denver, Colo.
