Christian Berthely to challenge for WKN world title at BFS 2 Nimes

The World Kickboxing Network returns to France on Saturday June 5 with the second edition of Boxing Fighters System (BFS 2). In the main event French super welterweight Christian Berthely will challenge for WKN world title.

BFS 2 was originally set to take place in March 2020. The event was postponed due to pandemic.

Over the course of his career Christian Berthely established himself as a prominent competitor representing France. In November 2016 he claimed WKN Intercontinental super welterweight title by knockout in the first round against Belgian Nordine Saidane at Simply the Best 12 Farciennes. In March 2019 he retained his title by unanimous decision against Altynbek Zhunusov of Kazakhstan at Villejuif Boxing Show.

The name of competitor taking on Berthely and other bouts for BFS 2 will be announced in the coming weeks.

Boxing Fighters System 2 in Nimes, France joins the list of WKN championship events scheduled for 2021. It follows Rising Stars set for April 17 in Fontanar, Spain and Born to Fight 9 scheduled for April 24 in Auckland, New Zealand. Other events are also in the works to be held in India and Northern Ireland.
