Colby Covington: “Leon Scott is the biggest cheater the sport’s ever known”
It’s almost Colby Covington fight week. That means quote after quote of promo that toes and occasionally crosses the line. He faces Leon Edwards looking to take the Englishman’s title back to the United States. In and interview with All Out Fighting, “Chaos” didn’t have anything nice to say about his next foe.
Colby Covington calls Leon Edwards a cheater
Covington has no nice words, as mentioned earlier. Leon Edwards is now under his trash-talk rapid fire and cheating allegations are being thrown out to him already.
“As a fighter, Leon Scott is the biggest cheater the sport’s ever known,” Covington said in an interview with All Out Fighting. “I thought ‘Marty’ (Kamaru Usman) was a cheater. Man, this guy makes ‘Marty’ look like a freakin’ saint. Leon is a cheater.”
Of course, Edwards took on Belal Muhammad in 2021 and the fight ended with a no contest as Edwards nearly gouged Muhammad’s eye out in one of the worst eye poke fans have ever seen.
“He’s poking people in the eyes, kicking people in the nuts, he’s grabbing the fence. I mean, the guy’s the biggest cheater the sport’s ever seen and that’s the only way I was able to prepare for him. Just prepare for all the cheating he’s going to do.”
Colby Covington then calls out Edwards’ intelligence.
“As a person, ‘Leon Scott,’ AKA ‘Low IQ Leon,’ what’s his grade level? What’s his level of education?” Covington wondered. “I swear, that guy’s a mumbling, fumbling idiot. He’s literally always drooling on himself. As a person, I just think that that guy’s a waste of f***king chromosomes and a waste of space.”
He then doubled down on on his questioning of Edwards’ education.
“Honestly, I’d love to know, can someone tell me, some journalist, this is all I want from this journalists out there, please dive into Leon Scott’s IQ. Like, what is his level of education? Did he graduate middle school? Did he even get through elementary school? Because the guy’s dumber than a box of rocks.”
Colby Covington will face Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC 296 for the middleweight title.
