Combate Americas Adds Juan Puerta and David Duran To Main Event On 8/28
Combate Americas has announced four fights for August 28th in Miami. The event is held behind closed doors with no fans in attendance. It will air on Univision, Tudn USA and AXS TV in the United States and Televisa Canal 5 in Mexico.
The main event will feature the inaugrial World Flyweight Championship between Juan Puerta and David Duran. Puerta sits at 18-6 with a plethora of experience coming into the title fight. Most recently, Puerta went 5-0 in Titan FC before getting the shot in Combate.
Duran is 8-6 and has fought for Combate Americas, Bellator and BAMMA in the past. Duran and Puerta are headlining the event that marks the return of Combate Americas.
Filling out the card in the co-main event is a women’s catchweight bout between Desiree Yanez (5-2) and Criszaida Adames (2-0) who are two fantastic prospects that will put on a violent show for fans. Yanez is the former Combate Americas champion and was dethroned by Melissa Martinez.
Combate’s return to action marks the first event since February when the pandemic took hold of the sports world and brought it to a halt. Combate was forced to cancel three events in the pandemic’s time.

Continuing the announcements, Combate has set two other matches for the date. Elvin Espinoza will be fighting in his home town and is a 3-0 prospect. He takes on Rudisel Mora (5-0-1) in a lightweight matchup.
Combate also announced a welterweight clash between Eric Alequin (3-0) and Charles Decca (2-0). Decca is a teammate of Jorge Masvidal who fights for the welterweight title this weekend at UFC 251.
Also on the card, Jomal Rodriguez (3-2) takes on Lamar Brown (2-1) in a 160 pound catchweight bout.
