Australian mixed martial arts competitor, Craig Booth is in a critical condition after he was found collapsed under hot towels in a bath in Labrador, on the Gold Coast yesterday.
Booth, 26, is believed to have been attempting to shed weight by “sweating it out” – a practice employed by MMA competitors seeking to make competition weight restrictions – at the Golden Shores Holiday Club when the discovery was made.
Booth was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
He was set to participate in an Eternal MMA match at the Southport Sharks AFL Club today.
Booth fights in the middleweight division.
