“We’re thrilled to promote our first event in the great state of Nebraska,” said BKFC President Dave Feldman. “We’ve known for a long time that we have a very strong fan base in Nebraska watching our events on the BKFC TV App and are committed to putting on a tremendous live event on Friday, September 10.”
BKFC 21 is headlined by an outstanding welterweight clash between Omaha Hometown Hero, Dakota Cochrane, (2-0), clashing with fellow undefeated Mike ‘The Marine’ Richman’, (1-0, 1KO), of Rosemont, MN.
Cochrane quickly impressed BKFC fans in his debut winning a unanimous decision over Chris Leben on June 22, 2019 at BKFC-6. Following up on that victory, he earned a hometown headlining slot at BKFC-21 by stopping Tyler Vogel in the fifth round on December 11, 2020. Richman made his presence in BKFC known immediately upon debuting with a first-round stoppage of Marcel Stamps at BKFC-17 on April 30, 2021.
Co-featured in a battle of heavyweight arch-rivals, Former BKFC World Title Challenger, Sam ‘The Hillbilly Hammer’ Shewmaker (5-2, 2 KOs), of Gravois Mills, MO battles Josh ‘The Hammer’ Burns, (1-1, 1 KO), of Detroit, MI. Having engaged in a savage war of words on social media in recent weeks, both Hammer’s will finally have a chance to settle their dispute in the squared circle.
Shewmaker makes a quick return to action following a very hard-fought challenge to BKFC Heavyweight World Champion, Joey Beltran on June 26, 2021 at BKFC-19. The fight, taking place in front of a huge crowd at Hard Rock Live in Fort Lauderdale, FL, saw both combatants throwing bombs from the opening bell until the end of the fifth stanza, a true BKFC classic.
Burns looks to rapidly bounce back into world title contention following a loss to Frank Tate on April 30, 2021 at BKFC-17. On December 11, 2020, Burns made his memorable BKFC debut with a brutal first round knockout of Chris Sarro at BKFC-15.
Also, at BKFC-21, making his BKFC debut, Omaha fan favorite, Houston ‘The Assassin’ Alexander clashes with Wes ‘Soldier’ Combs, (1-0), of Rancho Cucamonga, CA in the heavyweight division. Alexander is an accomplished MMA fighter with a record of 17-6, while Combs defeated Adrian Miles at BKFC-9 in Biloxi, MS.
Much more information on this exciting event will be announced shortly.
