Dan Ige slated to face Nate Landwehr at UFC 289
We’ve got a very exciting clash to look forward to at UFC 289, as no. 13 ranked Dan Ige (16-6) faces Nate Landwehr (17-4) in a featherweight affair at this event.
UFC 289 is to go down on June 10, 2023, live from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Dan Ige was at one point on a six-fight win streak in the UFC’s featherweight division, up until Calvin Kattar brought it to an end in their main event encounter back in July of 2020.
Ige then KO’d Gavin Tucker in a mere 22 seconds, a very talented striker, before dropping three-straight bouts to the likes of Chan Sung Jung, Josh Emmett, and Movsar Evloev, all three, just like the Kattar defeat, via unanimous decision.
However, Ige got back to his winning ways earlier this year in January with a win over Damon Jackson (KO), who’d gone 5-1 since rejoining the promotion, and came in on a four-fight win streak of his own.
Nate Landwehr on the other hand, a former M-1 Challenge featherweight champion, had a bit of a rocky start to his UFC tenure. He’d go 1-2 through his first three promotional bouts, losing both defeats via knockout, both from knees, with his lone victory coming over Darren Elkins (UD).
Since then, however, Landwehr has won his last three-straight over the likes of Ludovit Klein (anaconda choke), David Onama (MD), and Austin Lingo (rear naked choke), where he picked up just the first and second submission victories of his career.
Who do you see coming out on top in this featherweight encounter going down at UFC 289?
